Step 1: Sample Preparation

Step 2: Completing the Identification Request

1. Sample submission need to be done via our Customer Web Portal.
2. An Identification Request Form (IRF) must be completed in order to process your sample submission and to complete your sample shipping procedure to our lab.
3. The IRF should be completed using our Accugenix^® Customer Web Portal.

Step 3: Sample Submission

1. Please ensure pure colonies are submitted for ID. For mixed colonies, additional subculture will have to be performed and is chargeable.
2. The samples are shipped by ambient condition.
3. The samples must be parafilmed and in good condition without any physical damage.
4. The labelling of sample is correct to avoid any delay in processing.
5. Charles River Identification Request Form (IRF) must be submitted together with sample submission.
6. For AccuPRO-ID, a fresh and pure colony that is less than 36 hours old will be processed upon receipt. Samples older than 36 hours require a subculture for fresh growth and is chargeable.
7. TAT begins when fresh, pure, and workable colony is obtained.

1. Aseptically transfer 5-10ml of cell culture supernatant into a sterile centrifuge tube.
   
   
2. Seal the tube with Parafilm and label the tube with the sample ID using stickers or with permanent marker (cover the label with clear tape to ensure that the label is not erased should it come into contact with solvents).
   
   
3. If more than one sample is to be submitted, place each sample in separate bags to preserve the integrity of each sample should the other samples leak.
   
   
4. Fill out the Test Sample Submission Form (TSSF). Indicate the individual Sample ID’s under Test Sample Name. The Sample ID’s indicated on the TSSF will be reflected in the Test Report.
   
   
5. Send the samples in ice boxes with ice packs to ensure that the samples are kept cold. Submit the TSSF along with the samples. Samples must arrive at Charles River Singapore by Thursday morning for the samples to be included in the scheduled weekly testing.

1. Examine the sample bottle for cracks, a missing seal, or other signs that its sterility may be compromised. If any of these indications are found, discard the container and use a suitable one.
   
   
2. Collection of water for endotoxin and microbiological tetsing should be performed in an aseptic manner:
   1. Inspect the outside of the faucet. Remove debris and sterilize the faucet outlet by swabbing with a disinfecting wipe.
      
      
   2. Allow the water to run for 2 minutes before collection, this will help to remove stagnant water from the system. Before taking the sample, reduce the tap flow rate to ensure that no splashing occurs as the container is filled. Do not adjust the flow rate while taking the sample.
      
      
   3. While holding the sample container at the base, remove the seal around the cap before attempting to open the bottle.
      
      
   4. Remove the cap with the free hand. Be careful NOT TO TOUCH the inside of the bottle cap or bottle lip. Continue to hold the cap in one hand with the inside facing down while the bottle is being filled.
      

      Note:

      • Do not touch the interior of the cap or lay it down.
      • Do not breathe on the bottle or cap.
      • Do not rinse the bottle.
      • Do not allow the bottle to overflow.

   5. Carefully replace the cap.
      
      
3. Samples shall be kept in a refrigerator or cooler with ice packs to maintain a temperature of 4°C until delivered to the lab. Samples should not be frozen.
   
   
4. When submitting liquid samples, place each sample in an individual bag and seal to preserve the integrity of each sample should the other samples leak.
   
   
5. Fill out the Test Sample Submission Form (TSSF). Indicate the individual Sample ID’s under Test Sample Name. The Sample ID’s indicated on the TSSF will be reflected in the Test Report.
   
   
6. Transport the sample to the laboratory as soon as possible. Check ahead with Charles River Singapore in advance when your samples are to be delivered to ensure meeting the recommended window period for water testing.
